When a stage play sells out its first run, audiences naturally ask: When can we see it again? For Para Kay B, the answer arrives this September. After a critically acclaimed and emotionally charged premiere that made people laugh, cry, and reflect on their own love stories, the stage adaptation of Ricky Lee’s best-selling novel returns for a limited rerun from September 12 to 28, 2025 at The Doreen Black Box Theater, Ateneo De Manila University.
Five Love Stories, One Question
Based on Lee’s groundbreaking work, Para Kay B boldly asks: “Sa limang umiibig, isa lang ba talaga ang p’wedeng maging maligaya?” The production skillfully intertwines five interconnected love stories, allowing audiences to experience the beauty, chaos, and heartbreak of loving and being loved. Furthermore, theatergoers can expect razor-sharp humor, gut-punch emotional moments, and lines that feel uncomfortably personal—almost as if the play has been eavesdropping on their lives.
From Sold-Out Success to Deeper Storytelling
LA ProdHouse and Fire and Ice LIVE! bring this rerun to life, with Yong Tapang, Jr. directing. Unlike a simple repeat, the new production offers a reimagining of the original, adding fresh layers, dynamic casting choices, and moments that will hit even harder than before.
“What makes this rerun exciting is the addition of our new cast. Each new actor will bring an interesting flavor to the storytelling,” Tapang explains.
In addition, several of the new cast members performed in early developmental stages of the play, which means they bring a rare and deeper understanding of the characters they portray.
A Powerhouse Team
This production once again features an impressive ensemble: Mario Magallona, Ava Santos, Liza Diño, Maria Alilia “Mosang” Bagio, Martha Comia, Sarah Garcia, Via Antonio, and Phi Palmos. Behind the scenes, the creative team—led by Playwright Eljay Castro Deldoc, Choreographer Kirby Dunnzell, Costume Designer Raven Ong, and Set Designer Julia Pacificador—ensures that every detail supports the emotional weight of the story.
Diño, who both plays Ester and serves as a producer, reflects on the journey so far:
“We sold out almost all of the shows last time. The love from the theatre community is rare, and it fuels us to make this rerun even more heartfelt and unforgettable.”
